Patriotic Barack Obama lapel pins unveiled honoring all 57 states
Yesterday The Ticket broke the stunning news of America’s acquisition of seven, maybe eight, new states, according to future president Barack Obama.
He was speaking at the start of a two-day swoop through Oregon, which is already a state.
In Beaverton, which is not a state yet, the Democrat let it slip that during this marathon 16-month party presidential nomination struggle against a bunch of dropouts and this female political zombie from New York who won’t surrender short of a silver stake, he had already visited 57 states with one more to go.
That’s not counting the existing states of Alaska and Hawaii, he said, which his staff decided aren’t important enough to visit. Unless maybe you’re Mike Gravel or Dennis Kucinich, who weren’t very important either, come to think of it.

(AP) SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Democratic Sen. Barack Obama accuses his presidential rivals of pandering to voters by supporting the "gimmick" of temporarily lifting federal taxes on gasoline, despite his own past support for a similar tax holiday.
As a state legislator voting for a tax break, Obama even joked that he wanted signs on gas pumps telling motorists that he was responsible for lowering prices.
Most experts criticize the idea of a federal tax suspension, but Obama’s political opponents accuse him of flip-flopping and ignoring the financial pain caused by today’s rising gas prices.
In 2000, gasoline prices were climbing quickly, reaching $2 a gallon in the Chicago area _ a remarkable price back then. Illinois legislators scrambled to offer some election-year relief to angry motorists.
Obama voted three times for a tax holiday.

Andrew Malcolm, who is so quick to make fun of Senator Obama for his lacking math skills, may need a math lesson himself. If Obama went to 57 States, not including Alaska and Hawaii, and still has one more to go, How many States are there in total? Well, despite your modified flag pin indicating 57, the correct answer would be 60. I ran this by my 8 yr old, since this is 2nd grade math, and he agreed. 57+2+1 is definitely 60.
