Rejecting Obama's Radical Friends

In America we believe in redemption and even self-reinvention. And we don’t usually require stagy Stalinesque recantations. But Dohrn and Ayers test the limits of that generosity. They remain spectacularly unrepentant, self-indulgent, unreflective—still bloated with a sense of entitlement, still smug with certainty. They are dead to irony. Dohrn declared her contempt for the judicial system but wanted into the bar association. The two of them encourage young people to “be outraged.”

Ayers and Dohrn never posed any real threat to U.S. national security. Their asinine chatter about killing people and their anti-American sloganeering were as ineffective as their bombs. But they did real harm. Their victims were liberals: the millions of people who were part of the mainstream antiwar movement and who later voted against Ronald Reagan. These people opposed the Vietnam War but didn’t hate their country.

Michael Kinsley deep thinker and sophist hair-splitter:

Gen. Benedict Arnold, one-time hero of Fort Ticonderoga, following a series of hurtful and personally upsetting exchanges with the Continental Congress gave the British Army the secrets and designs of the forts guarding the Hudson at West Point.

Once considered a traitor to American, Arnold, now a Distinguished Professor of Miltary History at University of Illinois at Chicago, enjoys the warm praise of Mayor Richard M. Daley and stands to serve in Senator Barck Obama's Cabinet - possible Secretary of Defense.

Arnold's wife, also accused of treason and lunacy, was recently appointed to the Childrens Museum '
Board.'

Dan Kelley says:

Of course, like all liberals in good standing, Ayers and Dohrn are too self satisfied to acknowledge their hypocrisy in running back to the establishment (in the person of Ayers' father, a wealthy and influential corporate executive) to bail them out of trouble and to place them both in jobs. I have no doubt that both Ayers and Dohrn will happily lambaste George W. Bush as a "fortunate son," but they refuse to admit that they are very much the same. Of course, the actual crimes committed by the couple are far worse than those of W.

Leland Milton Goldblatt says:

Hussein Obama, you are known by the company you keep (and that includes your anti-American wife, Michelle)

I have been amazed how orchestrated everything has been for Barack Hussein Obama. As I watched the Jeremy Wright situation unfold I thought for sure Barack Hussein Obama was done. No, the American people who support this man just overlooked it and on he went. They think he can do no wrong. Kind of funny how the jury didn't return Rezko's verdict until the day after the primary ended.

We are judged by the company we keep.

I am definitely voting for John McCain. I like him a lot so it is an easy move. He loves this country and went through hell during the POW days.

Shalom,
